Japanese Garden is a great dive site for beginner divers in the Koh Tao area. It’s located off the tiny island of Koh Nang Yuan and contains a variety of hard corals, including lobe, lettuce, mushroom, staghorn, and slipper corals. Some of these structures are massive.
The maximum depth of the site is about 18 meters/59 feet and the average visibility is 10-15 meters/32-49 feet. There’s usually no current at Japanese Garden, so divers of all levels can enjoy a dive here.
While the corals are the stars of the site, you may also spot some interesting sea creatures. Giant cuttlefish, saddleback anemonefish, sand dollars, eagle rays, boxfish, and plenty of other species of reef fish can be seen here.
