El Morro

El Morro is a superb dive site located 26 miles from Puerto Vallarta in an area rich in big stuff. The spot is home to giant manta rays, sharks, dolphins, and even whale sharks from May through July. Other marine animals residing in this area include area turtles, sailfish, jacks, golden-eye grunts, leather bass, Moorish idols, harlequin wrasses, and more. 

You’ll also find a series of stone mounds, caves, caverns, and tunnels. Their rocky walls are covered with coral and sponges and teem with small fish, nudibranchs, and scurrying shrimp.

Visibility: 12 meters/40 feet
