El Bufadero dive site is located next to the Pal-Mar cliff, near the port of Los Cristianos, Tenerife. It starts at a depth of 6 meters/20 feet, then comes a gentle rock slope that descends to a sandbar located 25 meters/82 feet deep. Don’t skip the shallow area, which features two small caves.

Marine life at El Bufadero includes sea turtles, rays, black lions, sea eagles, bishops, moray eels, gardener eels, barracudas, roncadores, blacksmith chromis, angelfish, mullets, and breams. During winter, it is possible to see angel sharks sleeping on the sea bottom and spiny butterfly rays.

The best time to dive in Tenerife is between April and October, but if you don’t mind the colder temperatures, you can visit during late fall and winter as well. The water temperature ranges from 19 °C/66 °F to 23 °C /73 °F depending on the time of the year.
