A flooded quarry surrounded by a picturesque country park. Maximum depth 9 metres and visibility can be poor, especially after heavy rain.
The lake has to be booked 24 hours in advance for diving and a small fee (£4.50 per diver) is paid at the warden's office.
The topography is mostly piles of rocks on a silty bottom but can have a lot of weed in the summer months. A variety of fish and freshwater eels can sometimes be found.
