Albatros Diving is a PADI 5 Star “Gold Palm Resort”, the highest quality mark for diving schools which have shown a high level of teaching, professionalism, service and security and which in turn benefit from the guarantees that come with this. Besides, Albatros Diving is one of the founders and member of the Association of Majorca’s dive centres, an organisation that guarantees very high standards of quality and safety in diving.
The center is situated right at the sea front, just 100 meters away from Cala Bona harbour. Crossing the small street just in front, 5 meters away, there is “The Laguna”, a natural pool of 200 by 100 meters and 5 meters deep, ideal for the first exercises and the courses.
Divers will experience a very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere in the dive center and a lot of divers like to stay there far longer than just for diving. Experience proves that many of them come back year after year.
The MERO diving base has been firmly established in the diving bay of Cala Lliteras in Cala Ratjada since 1970. The director, base manager and diving instructor Jaime Ferriol has made a name for himself over the years as a leading figure in the scuba diving tourist industry. Jaime Ferriol invariably known just as "Jaime" is the pioneer of diving in Cala Ratjada and was one of the first in Majorca.
It was Jaime who discovered the meanwhile famous underwater caves near Cala Ratjada and gave them all a name. Thanks to his strict safety rules (with and without guests) he has safely completed more than 1000 dives in underwater caves. He is an enthusiastic connoisseur of these submerged caves in Cala Ratjada.
His vast experience in more than 13,000 dives is invaluable. Jaime earned and gained his considerable experience in various diving bases all over the world as owner or employee. His experience is in no way restricted to the Mediterranean, as he also spent training and working time in diving areas such as Mafia Island, Tanzania, the Seychelles, Mauritius and the Maldives. Jaime is happy to share the experience he has gained in these and other diving areas all over the world with his guests.
The center's main goal is to take people out diving and to see them enjoying themselves while under their safe supervision. The groups are always small with a lot of individual support for beginners (aged 10 years and upward).
They have a variety of dive sites available in the area. Depending on which way the wind is blowing they choose the best sites anew every day. This guarantees easy entry/exit and clear visibility. There are lots of caves, tunnels and rock formations.
The center is situated just 3 minutes away from the heart of Cala Ratjada, directly at the beach of Font de sa Cala in the Beach Club Hotel.
Their facilities are neat and modern. This includes hot fresh water showers, a gear storage room for technical equipment and, most important, a comfortable space. In the cozy atmosphere divers can tell their dive tales, enter their dives in their logbook or just take something to drink. Soft drinks are within reach all the time.
All diving activities start at the beach, where the boat is ready to pick up the divers.
Delphinus Diving School is a network of 5* PADI Dive Centers operating in Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, which serves high quality diving services. Porto Cristo is surrounded by numerous sea caves, untouched beaches with crystal clear water, breathtaking coastal cliffs that offer everything adventurers need to enjoy the activities of the diving centre, such as diving, snorkeling, coasting, stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking.
Another adventure that Skualo Porto Cristo offers is “The Sea Cave”, the mystical pirate cove as well as “Cova de Coloms” at the Cala de Falco. It is located not far from down town by Cala Varques.
Besides the Skualo water activities, this charming fishermen’s village has a lot more to offer. One of the oldest natural ports of the Balearic Islands invites tourists to enjoy countless restaurants and the traditionally crafted mallorquin wooden boats called “Llauts”, which deck the harbour with Spanish atmosphere.
The coastal area around Porto Cristo belongs to the Manacor region, an area of untouched bays, which are mostly exclusively accessible through the ocean, like Cala Varques, Cala Magraner, Cala Virgili and many more.
The centre also offers PADI classes all the way up to the Dive Master.
