Batu Bolong

Improve

Batu Bolong (hollow rock) is a small island with an underwater pinnacle. This reef dive site is one of the signature dives in the Komodo region.

Due to the fact that the rock's topography and strong currents, this site has not been exposed to overfishing, which means the reef and fish life is in superb condition. The underwater flora contains hard corals and sponges, while the fauna is comprised of different species of sharks, tunas, rays, trevallies, Napoleon Wrasse, Hawksbill turtles, and small reef fish.

A great time to dive here is at slack tide; this is when you can go deeper and spiral the pinnacle. The north ide of the pinnacle is especially spectacular, featuring a smaller pinnacle on the north-east and a huge gully that goes down to 27 meters (89 feet).

The average depth of Batu Bolong dive site is 14 meters (46 feet), with strong current but great visibility of 20 meters (66 feet) or more. Suitable for Advanced divers.

La inmersión es entre dos corrientes formadas por una gran roca repleta de coral y peces pequeños. En la zona de corriente se pueden observar peces más grandes, pero hay que tener cuidado de no salir de la zona de no corriente, pegados a la roca.
