Banco João Lopes is a reef dive site located off the northern coast of Santa Maria Island. The reef is 14 meters long and drops to a depth of 40 meters/130 feet.
The reef slopes form walls, steep slopes, as well as some plateaus at 20 meters/66 feet.
Jacks, yellowmouth barracudas, rainbow wrasses, ornate wrasses, dusky groupers, and devil rays are common residents of Banco João Lopes.
