Baixa Do Ambrósio

Baixa do Ambrosio is located near Santa Maria Island. It’s one of the most visited dive sites in the Azores, and this is because of the abundance and diversity of marine life in this area.

What draws divers here are the manta rays. You can encounter groups of dozens of manta rays on a single dive. There are also large schools of fish always present here. Moonfish can be seen on occasion too.

Much of the marine life can be seen at very low depth, which is why the site is suitable for divers of all levels, including snorkelers. Advanced and technical divers can explore the depths. There’s a platform at about 50 meters/165 feet that’s also abundant in marine life.

Baixa do Ambrosio can be dived all year round. The high season for diving runs from April to October when water temperatures can go up to 26° C/77° F.

O meu sonho ficou desfeito o Ambrósio era um deserto meia dúzia de lírios , outros tantos Xaréus, mas nada de mantas ou outros pelágicos! 50´ de azul só azul. Para reserva foi desilusão.Talvez na próxima.
