Avatoru Pass

Avatoru Pass is a popular dive spot situated on the northwestern side of the Rangiroa lagoon in the Tuamotu Islands, French Polynesia. You’ll enter on the eastern side of Motu Fara and drift into the little pass between the two islets, then end the dive in the lagoon.

Along the way, you should spot different species of shark such as silvertip shark, blackfin sharks, whitetip sharks, as well as groupers, bigeye jacks, African Pompano jackfish, scorpionfish, groupers, snappers, surgeonfish, kingfish, fusiliers, moray eels, nudibranchs, and more.

Avatoru Pass is dived when the weather is calm. The site is accessible to all divers. The maximum depth here is 18 meters/60 feet.
