Allen’s Ice truck is one of the treasures of West Lake Okoboji. It is said that the truck fell through the ice in the 1940s while harvesting ice on Lake Okoboji. You can spot it just east of Smith’s Bay entrance in just 5 meters/15 feet of water. The truck cannot be removed, apparently, so it’s there to stay. It makes a great photographic subject.
