Alcala turtle reef is an easy dive site located off the small town of Alcala, Tenerife. The spot features a sandy bottom with rocky areas and is popular for sightings of sea turtles. It’s also a great place for night dives – it’s after dark that you can watch the rays hunt.

Other attractions include the peaceful angel sharks that can sometimes be seen sleeping on the sea bottom. Shoals of roncadores (drums), lizardfish, cardinalfish, flounders, cuttlefish, rays, and eels can be spotted here as well.

The depth of the dive site is 16 meters/52 feet, which makes it perfect for divers of all levels, with dive courses often being conducted here. Alcala dive site is suitable for diving throughout the year, with water temperatures ranging from 19° C/66° F in the winter to 23° C/75° F in the summer.
