Abu Kafan (“Father of the Deep”) is a long and narrow reef running north to south in Safaga. It features a wall that rises from over 100 meters deep and is filled with black corals and large gorgonians.
In the deep, you’ll regularly spot the big stuff – barracudas, tuna, trevallies, blue-spotted rays, hammerheads, whitetip reef sharks, and grey reef sharks. in the reef, you’ll find lots of moray eels and groupers hiding in the holes.
