1000 steps is one of the most exciting dive sites around the island of Bonaire, and what makes it great is that it is accessible to both divers and snorkelers alike. This means that novice divers can enjoy themselves here as well.

The dive site received its name from the limestone staircase which provide access to the shore.

The visibility here is great, of at least 15 meters, and it allows divers to observe sea fans, gorgonians, brain corals, sponges and brightly coloured corals, all part of a healthy, lively reef.

The marine life here also includes numerous species of fish, such as angelfish, blennies, blue tangs, parrotfish, manta rays, moray eels, as well as turtles.
