Born in Acapulco, José Vázquez is a Biochemical Engineer in Marine Sciences graduated from ITESM. He lived most of his childhood in the well-known Caleta Beach where his father owned the diving school Mantarraya Aqua Sports for over 40 years.
He spent his childhood surrounded by divers and fishermen, favoring his passion for diving and the marine environment. Also fond of sports and a healthy lifestyle, he shaped his professional future during his adolescence, working hard at Mantarraya Aqua Sports. n 1978 NAUI the scuba diving organization peeked out to Acapulco and without any second thoughts he did his first diving course, becoming NAUI Instructor in 1987. Years later, in 1996 he was certified as a PADI OWI Instructor.
After many efforts he managed to open his own dive shop in Playa Angosta in 1990, where he trained divers for over 10 years. As a result of the growth in the sector and seeking to improve the service, in 2001 he moved the school to the newly built Paseo del Pescador Dock, so his boat could have it’s own mooring.
Intending to stay at the forefront, continuing to improve the quality of service and keeping up with the two most prestigious agencies worldwide, in 2016 he was certified as SSI Instructor and moved within the facilities of the Nautical Club La Marina Acapulco, private marina with high quality features.
With over 25 years of experience in the scuba diving scope, Acapulco Scuba Center has positioned itself as one of the centers of enjoyment and reference training throughout Mexico.
