Description

Bommenede in the Netherlands is named after the Dutch village of Bommenede that flooded in 1682. Diving to the remains of this village is officially prohibited because they lie in the boating channel. Bommenede has a beautiful underwater world and is one the few dive sites in Zeeland which is not seperated from the water by a dike. Yet it remains a tricky dive site. The boating channel is close to the shore and there is a lot of pleasure boating. Diving is actually not recommended when there is a lot of boating going on. Particulars Enter Bommenede Werkhaven Oost right from the small port. Then wade through the water to get to depth. Common species at Bommenede Oost are crabs and lobsters. Warnings Bommenede Werkhaven Oost can be busy with pleasure boats and surfers. Avoid boating channel. Use a diving flag and a surface buoy. Tricky dive site. Diving is actually not recommended.
