Zeelandbrug The Zeeland Bridge is renowned as the top dive site in the Eastern Scheldt and attracts divers from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany, especially during the sepia season from May to June. Offering a diverse underwater world, this site allows for captivating current and drift dives along the overgrown rock on the dike, as well as the opportunity to explore the bridge's majestic pillars. Also known as the Oosterschelde Bridge, the Zeelandbrug ranks among the most famous dive sites in the Netherlands. Abundantly vegetated and teeming with marine life, both the body of the dike and the limestone reef provide a spectacle for divers. The bridge pillars are adorned with an array of captivating growth, making a visit absolutely worthwhile. Divers exploring the depths may encounter harders and sea bass at the bridge, while the lucky ones visiting at the right time during the season may even spot seahorses and magnificent sepias. With hundreds of divers flocking to the Zeelandbrug each year, the sight of these unique species is a true highlight. May to June is prime time for witnessing cuttlefish, while August to September offers the best chances to marvel at seahorses. During the winter months, snail dolphins and sea thunderbolts grace this beloved dive site. Maximizing visibility up to 3 meters and reaching a maximum depth of 12 meters, the Zeeland Bridge is recommended for advanced divers.
