It is a shallow area with a shipwreck in a depth of ten meters that lays on an angle on its side, making it ideal for beginners. The gunboat is approximately 25 meters in length, and its stern can be visible at low tide. The wreck can be found at the Southern tip of Lusong Island. It lies close to the surface, visible enough for the snorkelers, diving enthusiasts, and other travelers to see. The typical diving sessions in Lusong Gunboat start from two feet to twenty-five feet underwater. Lusong Gunboat is one of the twelve Japanese Supply Ships or submarine hunters during World War II. The vessels were hit by an aerial attack of a U.S carrier-based aircraft while anchored in Coron Bay on September 24, 1944. It was eventually opened to the public and has then served as a favorite diving spot in the town. After jumping into the water, the very first thing that visitors will see is a huge ship covered with sponges, soft and hard corals, and barnacles. It is also possible to spot a wide variety of marine life while diving at Lusong Gunboat as the vessel serves as an artificial reef. There are parrotfish, lionfish, damselfish, stonefish, and nudibranch, to name a few. Divers are also allowed to explore inside the wreck, making it a perfect spot for both snorkeling and wreck photography. The vessel itself is often used as a ground for relaxation between dives.
