Miyaru Faru is a dive site located at the edge of Rasdhoo Atoll’s drop-off, in the Maldives. The reef starts at one meter and drops down to more than 30 meters/100 feet. You will follow the slop until you reach a plateau. If the current is strong, you’ll hook here and observe the marine animals passing by. If the current allows, you can cross the channel following the rocky bottom. Keep an eye out for the grey reef sharks, eagle rays, Mobula rays, trevallies, and tuna.
Other marine animals you can encounter here are glassfish, cardinalfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, barracudas, and moray eels, just to name a few.
This dive is suitable for advanced divers that can handle diving in strong currents. Diving at Miyaru Faru is possible year-round, but the best conditions can be found from December to May when the water is calmer and there is no rain. The average water temperature throughout the year is between 26° and 29° C/79°-84° F.
