Las Coloradas is the longest single reef off Playa Blanca and is actually made up of two different dive sites: Coloradas I and Coloradas II. It consists of a unique rock structure in the middle of a sandy area with lava rocks.
The reef is quite narrow and can be explored from both sides. Divers can dive through the Coloradas archway or come through the top of the reef, through a small cave.
Marine life includes schooling barracudas, bream, stingrays, octopuses, hogfish, various crustaceans, and even angel sharks, among other creatures.
Las Coloradas is protected from current and given its depth of 12 to 18 meters/40-60 feet, can be explored by divers of all levels. Good visibility, too. Scuba diving is possible year-round, with water temperatures ranging from 18° C/64° F during winter to 26° C/79° F during summer.
