The Hole in the Wall dive site in Puerto Galera is a favorite among divers. You drop to a depth of about 9 meters (30 feet), descend through multiple drop-offs, and then finally reach the highlight of the dive – the hole located at a depth of about 13 meters (43 feet). The hole is about 1.5 meters (5 feet) wide, so you can pass through it as long as you have good buoyancy.
The area is filled with beautiful colored sea sponges, crinoids, tree ferns, tree corals, and tubeworms. Marine life includes trevallies, sweetlips, jacks, stonefish, groupers, remoras, frogfish, red bass, red emperors, and sea perches.
The Hole in the Wall is best dived at slack high tide. It is a shallow dive site, with a maximum depth of about 20 meters (66 feet), suitable for all divers. But be careful of the sometime strong currents in the area.
