The grass carp is a large herbivorous fish native to eastern Asia but has been introduced in Europe, the United States, and other parts of the world for aquatic weed control. They have an elongated body and a slightly oblique mouth with no barbels. The average length of the grass carp is about 60-100 cm, or 23.5-39.5 in. The fish can be found in lakes, ponds, backwaters of rivers, and slow-flowing water with vegetation in general.
