The Prince Albert wreck is a popular and easily accessible dive site in Roatan. The shipwreck is a 50-meter (165-foot) long tanker that was purposefully sunk in 1985. Because it has been in the water for so long, the ship is covered in coral, algae, and sea sponges. Many different species of fish can be seen outside and inside the wreck. Keep an eye out for eagle rays and stingrays.
The wreck is penetrable but can only be explored by advanced divers with wreck diving experience. The hull, bridge, and main deck can be dived by divers of all levels. A few meters from the Prince Albert wreck you can also find the wreck of a DC-3 plane.
The maximum depth of the Prince Albert wreck is 20 meters (66 feet) and the main deck is found at a depth of only 8 meters (26 feet). Visibility is around 15 meters (50 feet) or more. Experience the wreck as a boat dive or as a shore dive from the CoCoView resort. Prince Albert is also a popular night dive.
