Museo Atlántico is a must-see dive site in Lanzarote, Spain. It was designed by renowned British artist Jason deCaries Taylor and was the first of its kind in Europe.

This unique underwater museum was designed to create a large artificial reef. It features ten different groups of sculptures such as:

  • Rubicon, consisting of 35 human figures walking towards a wall.
  • Raft of Lampedusa, referencing the refugee crisis.
  • Los Jolateros, a group of children.
  • Deregulated, with the quirky statues of businessmen playing on a swing and a seesaw.
  • several hybrid sculptures, sculptures of a couple taking a selfie, and others.

There are over 300 individual sculptures covering an area of more than 2,500 square meters. The sculptures are covered with coral and underwater flora. Animal life includes angelfish, octopus, butterfly rays, barracudas, and bream, among others.

Located at a depth of 12-15 meters (39-49 feet), Museo Atlántico can be enjoyed by divers, freedivers, and snorkelers alike. Diving is possible year-round.
