Manila Channel

Manila Channel is a dive site situated on the west side of Medio Island, the Philippines. It features two series of walls – one found at a depth of 12 meters (40 feet) and the second at 18 meters (59 feet). The walls are adorned with barrel sponges, whip corals, table corals, and gorgonians.

Manila Channel has a sandy bottom with rubble and stony hard corals. The area is teeming with mantis shrimps, crabs, nudibranchs, blue-dotted stingrays, banded sea snakes, and moray eels. One may even encounter sea turtles at the shallower parts. And since the local government has banned fishing in the region, the population of reef fish is on the rise; unicorn fish, cardinals, damselfish, blackfish, and other common reef fish can be spotted here.

There is a mild current at the Manila Channel, but the dive site is considered suitable for all divers. Visibility is good, ranging from 10 to 30 meters (33-100 feet).
