The Kennedy was a little flat-top barge that was used as a floating dock for vessels in the harbor to load and unload supplies. However, the barge turned out to be too buoyant so it was decided to let one of the water-tight compartments flood so that it would sink a bit. Things didn’t turn out as planned and the ship began to take on more water and it eventually sank to the bottom of the sea.
Today, the Kennedy wreck sits flipped upside down in 12-18 meters/40-60 feet of water. It is home to barracudas, porcupinefish, lionfish, and stingrays.
