The Sydney octopus is a species of octopus found in eastern Australia and New Zealand. It usually has a grey to mottled brown color and white eyes. The skin has many small regular shaped patches. It is primarily a nocturnal feeder that feeds on crustaceans and molluscs. The Sydney octopus has also been recorded as being cannibalistic.
