The Nassau grouper is medium-large fish that can grow to over 1 meter (3 feet) in length and weigh up to 25 kg (55 lbs). Its one of the largest species of fish found around coral reefs and lives in the western Atlantic Ocean. The animal has a thick body and its color varies from tawny to pinkish or red. It feeds on other fish and crustaceans. The Nassau grouper can be found from the shoreline all the way down to a depth of 100 meters (328 feet).
