The Mediterranean moray, also known as muraena, is a fish in the moray eel family found in the Mediterranean Sea and in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, where it inhabits rocky bottoms. It has an elongated body and can reach lengths of up to 1.5 meters. The fish usually hide in cavities during the day and become active at night when they go hunting for fish, crayfish, and cephalopods.
