Shaab El Erg is an 18-meter-deep dive site which can cater to all levels of divers, as the current here is of medium intensity.
The dive spot is accessed only by boat.
The horseshoe shape adds an extra layer of interesting things which can be explored here in an excellent visibility which can reach 30 meters, also helped by the sandy bottom of the dive spot. There are also ergs in the middle of the dive site.
This means that Shaab El Erg is an incredible dive site for underwater photographers, which can never get bored here.
Divers exploring Shaab El Erg can enjoy here a coral garden with hard corals, table corals, brain corals as well as majestic pinnacles.
The fish inhabiting the reef here include pufferfish, butterflyfish, Napoleon wrasse, triggerfish and bannerfish.
Moray eels, blue spotted stingrays and occasionally dolphins, reef sharks and turtles make Shaab El Erg a truly exciting dive for anyone.
