Elephant Head is one of the most popular dive sites in the Similan Islands. It’s found in open water and can be identified by the rock at the surface. The rock is also the feature that gives this spot its name; it’s shaped like an elephant’s head.
The site offers numerous diving opportunities, such as exploring caves, arches, and swim-throughs. It’s a really fun dive, especially considering the high chances of spotting multiple species of sharks such as blacktip, whitetip, and leopard sharks.
Around the boulders, you can see schools of pelagic fish such as barracudas and trevallies. Other marine animals you can see here include sweetlips, angelfish, fusiliers, rockmover wrasses, red fire gobies, bigeye bream, surgeonfish, moray eels, cuttlefish, mantis shrimps, boxer shrimps, and cleaner shrimps.
