Leafy Seadragon is a marine fish that can be found along the southern and western coasts of Australia. Its name was given thanks to its leaf-shaped appendages that cover its body which is very useful when it comes to camouflage.
An interesting fact in that the male will carry the babies in the womb. The females puts the offspring on the the tail of the male counterpart so the male carries the eggs until they are ready to hatch.
In Australia the Leafy Searagon is considered a source of good luck and it will often be used as a symbol in various festivals and activities. They are the official marine emblem of South Australia and are considered near threatened due to pollution.
