The eastern blue groper is a species of wrasse native to southeastern Australia. It is the state fish emblem of New South Wales. They are found in coastal waters, most often in rocky areas at a depth of about 40 meters (130 feet). Their diet consists of various mollusks, crabs, cunjevoi, and sea urchins.
