Coral trouts are marine ray-finned fish part of the subfamily Epinephelinae. They are found in the Western Pacific Ocean where they have an extensive range.
You can see them on coral reefs at depths of 3 to 100 meters/9.8 to 328.1 feet.
The fish have an elongated and robust body and can grow up to 120 centimeters/47 inches, although most grow to about 35 centimeters/14 inches.
