Butterflyfish are tropical fish in the family Chaetodontidae. There are over 120 species in 12 genera of butterflyfish. These fish are found on reefs in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans. They generally range from 12 to 22 cm (4.7 to 8.7 in) in length, with the largest species being the lines butterflyfish.
