Noms alternatifs : Thalassoma bifasciatum, bluehead wrasse
The bluehead wrasse is a species of wrasse native to the coral reefs of the Caribbean Sea and adjacent waters (Bermuda, Gulf of Mexico, Florida).
The name comes from its coloration. Adults have a blue-colored head while the body is of greenish color. They typically grow to less than 11 cm and feed primarily on zooplankton.
