The Great Blue Hole

Site de plongée à
Improve

The Great Blue Hole, or the Blue Hole of Belize, is one of the most spectacular dive sites on Earth. What makes this dive unique is that this massive blue hole can be seen from space.

This deep dive of 42 meters (135 feet) that requires a good control over buoyancy and experience with low light diving, as you'll be faced with little light in its deeper waters.

In terms of coral growth and fish life, it doesn't offer too much. The lack of light doesn't allow that many corals to grow, but you can see sea plants, algae, and feather-duster worms.

Some of the highlights of this dive site are, however, the stalactite formations at a depth of about 30-42 meters (100-140 feet). There's also a good chance of seeing bull sharks and Caribbean reef sharks.

Suitable for Advanced divers only.

Not much marine. The stalactites were a sight to see! Very cold after you drop below 60’. Instructed to keep an eye on the wall as descending or else you’ll see nothing but darkness.
