Simons Reef is a deep dive site with a variety of corals very different from what you’d find on other sites in the area. Marine life is abundant and includes gorgonian fans, big coral bommies, fusiliers, sea snakes, and pygmy seahorses, just to name a few. Leopard sharks have also been spotted several times.
When you reach 30 meters/100 feet, you’ll find a sandy bottom between large sea mounds. The mounds have different sizes and offer an array of overhangs and outcrops. You’ll also see some interesting sand bars.
Towards the end of the dive, there’s a pinnacle filled with marine life.
Simons Reef is suitable for advanced divers and up. Nitrox is needed to make the most out of this dive.
