Kuramathi is a shipwreck located near the coast of the island of Kuramathi in the Maldives. It consists of the wrecks of a 40-meter-/130-foot-long freighter that was sunk in 1987 and a dhoni (traditional vessel) named Tomton.
The maximum depth here is only 18 meters/60 feet which makes Kuramathi a great spot for divers of all levels.
The wrecks are overgrown with hard and soft corals. Some of the other marine animals you can see here include rays, moray eels, lobsters, pufferfish, barracudas, cardinalfish, groupers, and shrimps.
The best diving conditions in the area can be found from December to May, when there are fewer chances of rain and the water is calmer. The water warms up at 26° C/79° F.
