Striped parrotfish live in the Western Atlantic where they enjoy shallow, clear waters, generally over Thalassia beds, but can also be seen in rocky or coral areas at depths from from 3 to 30 meters.
They have a blue to green color, with a gold to yellow/pale spot/stripe above and behind the pectoral fin.
