Spotted Eagle Ray

Nombres alternativos: Aetobatus narinari

The spotted eagle ray is a cartilaginous fish of the eagle ray family that can be found in tropical regions around the world.
It can be identified by its dark dorsal surface covered in white spots or rings. At the end of its tail it has several venomous barbed stingers.
An interesting fact is that the pattern of the spotted eagle ray is unique to each individual, similar to the finger prints.
Unfortunately, the spotted eagle ray is included in the IUCN's Red List as "near threatened".
