The selma porgy is a species of sea bream that can be found in the East Atlantic, as well as the Mediterranean, where it is distributed from the Bay of Biscay to South Africa. It lives in depths of maximum 70 meters.
This fish is recognisable by the golden stripes that run down the length of its body and it can reach a maximum length of 51 centimeters.
The selma porgy became known for its psycho-activity, as it can cause hallucinations when eaten.
