The ribbon eel is a species of moray eel found in lagoons and reefs in the Indo-Pacific region. They are frequently spotted by scuba divers in Indonesian waters. You will usually only see the ribbon eel’s head and upper body, as they live burrow in the sand and hide under rocks.
