The great barracuda is a species of barracuda found in subtropical oceans throughout the world. Mature specimens usually grow around 60-100 cm (24-39 in) in length, but exceptionally large specimens can grow up to 3 m (9.8 ft) in length. They have an elongated body with powerful jaws. They rarely attack humans, but their bites can result in lacerations.
