Carp are various fish species within the family Cyprinidae. They're native to Europe and Asia and are consumed in various parts of the world. The carp has an elongated body moderately compressed laterally and large, copper-colored scales covering its whole body. These fish are considered an invasive species in parts of Africa, Australia, and the United States.
