The Sea Tiger shipwreck is a wonderful spot just off Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1992, the Chinese-owned vessel was found carrying almost a thousand illegal immigrants, which caused it to be confiscated by the U.S. Coast Guard. The ship was sold for $1 to the Atlantis Submarine Hawaii Tours- Voyager Submarines, which ended up abandoning it. In 1999, it was cleaned and sank, becoming a new wreck for scuba divers to enjoy.
The shipwreck is about 50 meters/165 feet in length, 12 meters/40 feet in width, and sits in an upward position on the seabed at a depth of more than 34 meters/110 feet.
The Sea Tiger can be penetrated. On its decks, you can see two large cargo refrigeration holds that you can swim through. Advanced divers can also swim along the dark hallways and enter the main hall and engine room.
There are plenty of animals that live on and around the ship, such as frogfish, moray eels, sea turtles, eagle rays, manta rays, whitetip reef sharks, and even tiger sharks.
