Santa Monica Rock

Punto de inmersión en
Improve

Santa Monica Rock is an underwater pinnacle rising from a depth of 21 meters/70 feet to 6 meters/20 feet below the surface of the water. It was named after an old wooden schooner that suffered damages after hitting the rock but still managed to move further before eventually sinking near St. John.

The top of the pinnacle is covered with fire coral while the southern side is covered with gorgonians and sea fans.

Common marine life in the area includes sea turtles, horse-eye jacks, mackerels, Atlantic spadefish, barracudas, black durgons, Queen angelfish, groupers, and nurse sharks.

Good for intermediate to advanced divers. During the colder months, the currents can get strong and visibility low.
