This dive site has been named like so because of the large schools of tarpon that can be seen in the late summer months.
Sabalos is a dive site typical for fringing reefs and, despite a maximum depth of around 12.5 meters, it often experiences strong currents.
These currents have encouraged the growth of numerous types of both soft and hard corals.
The reef is home to many different kinds of fish and starfish on the sand. Sea turtles, snappers, barracudas, yellow-band grunts and occasional eagle rays can be spotted here, as well as different species of crabs and moray eels. Those who pay extra attention can also catch some seahorses hiding in the reef.
The water temperature at Sabalos varies from 23 to 27 degrees Centigrade.
