Leven Bank is among the popular dive sites in northern Zanzibar. It’s a very large reef with clusters of coral.
With a depth of 18 to 30 meters and strong currents and swells, this spot should also be attempted by advanced divers. Visibility is usually good.
The currents attract fish such as barracudas, tuna, trevallies, kingfish, Napoleon wrasses, and large schools of reef fish. Consequently, Leven Bank is great for underwater photographers!
The high season for diving in Zanzibar typically runs from July to September and December to January.
