The Hanan dive site in Cozumel is usually done during a Norte, when the wind blows the west side of the island, leaving the east coast relatively calm.
Hanan is an interesting reef; the bottom has some crevices carved by the action of waves and divers get to see an abundance of sponges and sea fans.
The reef is home to lionfish, parrotfish, damselfish, wrasse, and snappers.
The dive site has a depth of 9 to 15 meters (30-50 feet) and features a moderate current. Viewed as a drift site, it's more suitable for intermediate divers.
