The Halaveli wreck is a former 40-meter-long cargo ship sunk on purpose in 1991 to create an artificial reef. The wreck lies in 21 to 28 meters/68-92 feet of water, accessible to all divers.
Having been in the water for so long, the wreck is now home to a variety of sea creatures such as mackerel, groupers, sea turtles, moray eels, and stingrays.
Diving the Halaveli wreck is possible all year round, but the best conditions can be found from December to May. Current is mild to strong, and the underwater visibility can be anywhere from 10 to 30 meters/32-100 feet.
